
Tourists Receive Cleary, Jr., Place Matthes On DL

Asheville Tourists News Release
The Asheville Tourists have received outfielder Delta Cleary, Jr., from the Colorado Rockies' extended spring training and have placed outfielder Kent Matthes on the disabled list with a knee injury.
Cleary, who has been in extended spring training while recovering from a broken hamate, played for Asheville in 2009 and batted .256 in 105 games. Matthes was hitting .185 in 21 games with the Tourists this season.
After today's special start time of 11:05 a.m. for Education Day, the Tourists return home to McCormick Field on Monday, June 14, at 7:05 a.m. to face the Hagerstown Suns for the first of a four-game series. For more information, contact the Tourists' front office at (828) 258-0428.
