Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
Charleston, WV (June 8, 2010) - The West Virginia Power has announced several front office changes that will take effect immediately.
Joe Payne will relinquish his responsibilities as the General Manager to lead the team's sales efforts as the Vice President of Sales. "Joe has learned the industry thoroughly over the last 5 years and we're excited to utilize his knowledge, skill set, and leadership to advance our sales efforts on a 12 month basis," said Power Executive Vice President Andy Milovich. "Baseball's prime opportunity for sponsorship and group sales is during the spring and summer, but our focus on operations during those months has limited our ability to capitalize fully."
Andy Milovich will assume the General Manager responsibilities and oversee the day to day operations of the franchise. "I've become more immersed in the daily operations since the sale of our franchise in Mahoning Valley last year," said Milovich. "The operation of the franchise day to day is something I enjoy and I think my experience will help significantly with the transition and in the professional growth of our other front office members.
Milovich will lean on two West Virginia Power veterans to assist with the daily operations. Kristin Call has been promoted to Assistant General Manager - Marketing and Jeremy Taylor will become the Assistant General Manager - Operations. "Jeremy has been with me since the final season at Watt Powell Park in 2004 and Kristin joined us in 2006," said Milovich. "I've been amazed at the work ethic, commitment, and ability to learn this industry that both JT and Kristin have shown. I'm excited to share this opportunity and I know that the two of them, coupled with Jeff Meehan, the Power Food & Beverage Director, will continue to provide the finest family entertainment in Southern West Virginia."
The Power return home on June 10th for a three-game set with the Lakewood Blue Claws. Tickets are available now by calling 304-344-BATS (2287).
