Last Week:

The Toronto Marlies posted a record of 1-1 over the course of two games this past week.

In their first road game of the season, the Marlies traveled to New York where they suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. Wade MacLeod notched the lone Toronto goal with the assists going to Spencer Abbott and T.J. Brennan. Garret Sparks took the loss in his first start of the season.

In their final game of the week the Marlies defeated QEW rival the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, by a score of 2-1. In his first game with the Marlies this season, Carter Ashton scored the game winning goal and was named the game's first star. T.J. Brennan also netted his league leading eighth goal of the season in the win.

Drew MacIntyre stopped 17 of 18 shots to remain unbeaten. Toronto went 2- for-8 on the powerplay and 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.

Look Ahead:

The Marlies will play three games this coming week. Toronto takes to the ice tonight at Ricoh Coliseum for a 7 p.m.

game against the Rockford IceHogs, AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Defenceman Adam Clendening leads the IceHogs with 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists) in 7 games.

Rockford's two rookie goaltenders Kent Simpson and Antti Raanta have each recorded two wins so far this season. In their second game of the week Toronto will host the Rochester Americans at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening. Luke Adam and Phil Varone have each recorded 7 points so far this season, while goaltender Nathan Lieuwen remains undefeated in two starts.

The Marlies will finish the week with a road game against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon. Puck drop is 3 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. Defenceman Greg Pateryn leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 4 points in 5 games.
