Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Albuquerque Isotopes infielder Jason Wood is receiving some national recognition as the subject of an article featured in USA Today Sports Weekly, which hit newsstands yesterday.

The article, titled "The Baseball Lifer," outlines Wood's career and how he has been able to sustain excellence throughout his 16 professional seasons.

Wood, who received team MVP honors in 2003 and again last year, is having another suburb season in 2006, hitting .316 with 22 runs scored and six home runs. His 29 RBI on the year are also third in the Pacific Coast League, while his .607 slugging percentage ranks fourth in the League.

The Isotopes are currently on an eight-game road trip through the Portland and Tacoma, but will return home on May 18 for a 12-game homestand packed with great promotions and giveaways, including team poster night, hat night, lunchbox giveaway, and back-to-back Memorial Day weekend fireworks shows. Tickets are available at the Isotopes Park Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets and on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com. For details, please call (505) 924-2255.
