Mike Boulanger made his managerial debut and two pitcher made their Triple-A debuts in Sacramento's 8-2 win over Oklahoma Thursday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
Earlier in the day, Oklahoma hitting coach Mike Boulanger was promoted to manager. He had been the team's interim manager for the previous seven games.
Jason Windsor for Sacramento and Nick Masset for Oklahoma both made their Triple-A debuts. The game was scoreless until Sacramento scored seven runs on five hits off Masset in the sixth inning. Masset pitched four innings and gave up seven runs on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Rob Tejeda started for Oklahoma and pitched a scheduled two innings.
Windsor started for Sacramento and kept Oklahoma scoreless through six. However, he gave up a two-run homer to Jamie Burke with one out in the seventh. He went 6.1 innings and gave up two runs on six hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Chris Mabeus pitched the last 2.2 innings for Sacramento and gave up no runs on a hit with no walks and three strikeouts.
The RedHawks were led by leftfielder Jason Botts. He went three-for-four with a double and a run scored. Laynce Nix improved his hitting streak to eight games with a double in the first inning.
Doug Clark was two-for-five with three RBIs for Sacramento. His three-run double in triple in the sixth made the score 7-0.
The two teams will complete their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Friday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. John Rheinecker is schedule to make an abbreviate start for Oklahoma against his former team. Dan Meyer is scheduled to start for Sacramento.
