Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have acquired forward Jeff Attard (UH-tard) from the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL in exchange for forward Pierre-Luc Sleigher.
Attard, a native of London, Ontario, has scored 87 points (32g, 55a) in the 2 previous seasons with the Wranglers. Last season, Jeff was voted CCM ECHL Man of the Year for his work in the Las Vegas community. Over his career, Attard has worked extensively with the Boys and Girls Club as well as visiting various children's hospitals. In May, he ran five kilometers in the "Race for the Cure" to raise money and increase awareness of breast cancer. Prior to playing in Vegas, Jeff suited up for consecutive seasons with the Long Beach Ice Dogs. He collected 19 goals and 39 assists in those years. Sleigher appeared in 40 games with last year's Storm, scoring 12 goals with 21 assists.
" Jeff gives us added depth at the center position," said Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Nick Vitucci. "He has terrific size for that position, and is not afraid to use it. Jeff has a nice track record of producing in the ECHL and not only is he a great asset on the ice, but he is outstanding in the community as well."
