Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - Adding to the inaugural roster for the 2005-06 season, the Stockton Thunder have signed forward Todd Grant, Thunder Head Coach Chris Cichocki announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

"Todd has unbelievable skill, and is a player I look to provide a lot of offense for the Thunder this year," Cichocki said. Grant, 24, is coming off a heralded four-year college hockey career (37-41-78) with the Miami (OH) RedHawks, where his 15 goals, career-best 18 assists and career-high 33 points during the 2004-05 season placed him in a tie for first among the team in goals, and fourth amongst all RedHawks in scoring.

Appearing in 37 of 38 games in his senior year, he matched his career-high in goals with the same mark in 2003-04. Grant, whose nine power play goals in 2004-05 tied for the team lead, earned CCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors in February for a four-point effort (3 G, 1 A) during a two-game series on February 4-5 against Western Michigan. He began the season with a furious six-game point-scoring streak, where he collected four goals and ten points in the stretch.

Following his 2003-04 junior season, Grant picked up the team's Steve Cady Most Improved Player Award, where he finished sixth amongst all RedHawks in scoring with 26 points and fourth in goals.

Grant, a native of Indianapolis, IN, is the eighth player to sign with the Thunder, who open the season on the road October 22nd against the Fresno Falcons. Season tickets for the upcoming Thunder season are on sale now. Tickets for the home opener can currently be purchased as part of a full or mini season package.
