Titans add four to roster

TRENTON, NJ (September 7, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to terms with forward Dustin Sproat, center Aaron Gill and defensemen Neil Petruic and Peter Tormey.

Sproat, a local product out of Princeton University, led the Tigers in scoring last season with 35 points (18g, 17a) in 31 games. Named the team's most valuable player for 2004-05, the 24-year old totaled 28 goals, 29 assists and 57 penalty minutes over 91 games. The 6'0", 190 lb native of Drayton Valley, Alberta will be earning his stripes on the ice while also completing his degree at Princeton in Chemical Engineering.

Gill, 6'0", 185 lbs, spent all of the 2004-05 season in the American Hockey League with the Cleveland Barons. There, the 23-year old notched 9 points (4g, 5a) and 16 penalty minutes in 75 games (2002-05). A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Gill was a four-year letterman at the University of Notre Dame where he racked up 49 goals, 72 assists and 87 PIM in153 games. Gill signed with the Barons following the completion of his senior season in 2003-04.

Petruic, 23, joins the Titans following a four-year career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. An eighth round pick (#235) of the Ottawa Senators in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Petruic chipped in 14 goals and 32 assists for 46 points in 157 career games at UMD from 2001-05. Hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan, the 6'1", 180 lb defenseman served as an alternate captain for the Bulldogs last season and was named their rookie of the year in 2001-02.

The Titans will also add some size to their blueline with the addition of 6' 4", 215 lb defenseman Peter Tormey. Celebrating his twenty-fifth birthday on Saturday, Tormey joins Trenton after four seasons of collegiate hockey at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Originally from Bourne, MA, Tormey tallied 18 points (4g, 14a) and 50 penalty minutes in 116 games during four years with the Riverhawks.
