Titans Rally to Defeat Storm, 4-2

TRENTON, NJ – Down by a goal early in the third period, the Trenton Titans scored twice in 31 seconds to defeat the Toledo Storm in front of 4,559 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena.

Vince Williams scored his first goal of the season at 6:27 in the third period to tie the game at 2-2. Scott Bertoli set the up the scoring chance with a quick pass to Williams in front of the crease, before the defensemen finished a wrist shot into the top of the net.

The game-winner came at the 6:58 when Bryce Cockburn scored his sixth goal of the season to give the Titans a 3-2 lead. Nick Deschenes and Leon Hayward both registered assists on the play.

Before the Titans 30-second offensive spurt, Toledo and Trenton battled for most of the game. The Storm scored first when former Titan Scooter Smith, who also scored against the Titans Wednesday night, netted his ninth goal of the season at 10:37 in the first.

Titans' rookie Brent Robinson struck back with his 15th of the year at 13:16 in the second period, tying the game at one apiece.

Toledo defenseman Paul Ballantyne put the Storm ahead early in the final period when his third goal of the season gave his team ahead 2-1.

But 3:27 later Williams struck, followed by Cockburn's game-winner.

Titans captain Rick Kowalsky closed out the team's winning effort with an empty-net goal at 18:11.
