
Wheeling Hands Condors a 4-2 Loss

Bakersfield, Calif. - Joe Exter made 41 saves as the Wheeling Nailers doubled up the Bakersfield Condors 4-2 in front of 4,509 fans at the Rabobank Arena on Thursday Nights.
The defense was strong in the first period, featuring just 19 total shots. The teams exchanged power play tallies to head into the dressing room 1- 1. Brett Lutes picked up his 13th of the season for Bakersfield.
Wheeling took the lead midway through the hockey game when Evgeny Lazarav fired a wrist shot from the top of the right circle for his 14th of the season. The Condors managed 14 shots to the Nailers 12 in the period, but couldn't get the equalizer.
Wheeling added two more in the third period, sandwiched around Ryan Gillis' fifth goal of the season. Bakersfield managed 18 third period shots and 43 in the game but Joe Exter was equal to the task, turning aside 41 shots for his ninth win of the season.
