February 18, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release
PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Friday that for being named Most Valuable Player of the Coors Light All-Star Game, National Conference goaltender Frank Doyle of the Idaho Steelheads has been awarded $1,000 from All-Star Game title sponsor Coors Light and $1,000 to award to a charity of his choice.
Doyle has selected The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho, who are both charitable partners of the Steelheads. Doyle will present a $500 check to each charity in an on-ice ceremony during the second intermission of Idaho's game against Victoria on Saturday. George Weissbeck of Coors Distributing will present the checks to Doyle on behalf of Coors Light, the title sponsor of the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game.
Doyle was voted as the MVP after stopping 20 of 21 shots in the second period of the Northern Conference's 6-2 win in front of 6,747 at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa. on January 26.
