Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Trenton, N.J. - Playing the Trenton Titans for the first and last time this season, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-3 in overtime tonight to secure a point in the team's first of a three-game road series.
Las Vegas was put in a hole early on as the Titans scored three goals in the first 7:25 minutes of the game. Titans forward J.S. Berube kicked off the lead just two minutes in, and follow-up goals from defenseman Connor Goggin and forward Mike Ullrich left Trenton up 3-0. The Wranglers bounced back a minute into the second as forward Andrew Sarauer put the team on the board with a shorthanded goal, and the return of center Eric Lampe from the American Hockey League's Norfolk Admirals saw him score his 15th of the season to make it a one-goal game after 40 minutes.
The Wranglers started the third with four minutes of power play opportunity, and then got another five minute chance moments later, but were unable to capitalize to take their first lead of the night. With less than two minutes left in regulation, Wranglers defenseman Channing Boe tallied the game-tying goal, and the 3-3 score forced the two teams into overtime. Scoring on a power play, Titans defenseman Derrick Pallis secured the 4-3 overtime win for Trenton, with Las Vegas collecting a point in the match.
The Wranglers continue their East Coast trip with two games against the Reading Royals on Saturday, Jan. 26, and Sunday, Jan. 27. The team returns home for a four-game stretch starting Wednesday, Jan. 30, against the Bakersfield Condors, and promotions include a concert by alt-country legend Todd Snider on Feb. 1 and "Over 18 Night," featuring the world's first topless pro hockey team, on Feb. 4 at 9:05 p.m.
Tonight's full box score can be found here.
