
Nestrasil, Parkes and Spady Join Toledo

(Toledo, OH) - The NHL's Detroit Red Wings have assigned forwards Andrej Nestrasil and Trevor Parkes to the Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Defenseman Erik Spady returns to Toledo after being released from his PTO with the Griffins. All three are expected in the lineup tonight for Toledo as they host division rival Kalamazoo.
Nestrasil returns to the Walleye where he has collected a point per game this year (10g, 21a) in 31 games. The Prague, Czech Republic native has 1 assist this year in 6 games with Grand Rapids. The 10 goals and 22 total assists match the 21 year olds numbers from last year; his first as a professional.
Parkes has spent the entire year with Grand Rapids and has 7 points (3g, 4a) in 25 games. The Fort Erie, Ontario native appeared in four games last year with Toledo, scoring four goals. In 44 games last year with the Griffins, the 21 year old posted 2 goals and 6 assists. The 6'2", 202 pound forward had 60 goals and 49 assists in his junior career with Montreal in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Spady skated in Grand Rapids game Wednesday night against Oklahoma City. The 23 year old did not collect a point, but does have an assist in two games this year with the Walleye.
The Toledo Walleye return home for three consecutive games starting on January 25 to host the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:05 p.m. Bakersfield will be in Toledo on Saturday night, with the Evansville IceMen in on Sunday this week.
