Titans escape with 2-1 win over Bombers

TRENTON, NJ - Chris Pittman's power play goal at 12:05 of the third period proved to be the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over the Dayton Bombers at Sovereign Bank Arena.

3,487 saw Chris Thompson put the Titans up 1-0 on a shorthanded goal with 1:37 remaining in the first period. The Titans' captain jammed a rebound past Bombers goalie Mike Ayers for his seventh goal of the year.

After a scoreless second frame, Trenton struck again on their fifth man advantage of the game as Pittman one-timed Matt Maglione's pass into the net for his fourth marker this season.

Dominic Noel pulled Dayton within one with a power play goal at 17:02 of the third, but the Titans defense shut the door to seal the victory.

Dustin Traylen stopped 30 of 31 shots to raise his record to 4-2-o, while Ayers made 36 saves in the loss.

The Titans were 1-for-5 on the man advantage and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill
