Bombers Drop 2-1 Decision In Jersey Friday night

Trenton, NJ - The Dayton Bombers dropped a 2-1 decision to the Trenton Titans in front of 3,487 at Sovereign Bank Arena Friday night. The same two teams meet Saturday night at 7:00 PM in New Jersey.

The Titans opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal from Chris Thompson at 18:23 of the first period. The Bombers were the only team in the ECHL that had not allowed a shorthanded goal this season.

Following a scoreless second period, the teams exchanged goals in the third. Chris Pittman scored a powerplay goal at 12:05 to give the Titans a 2-0 lead. The Bombers pulled within one, 2-1, when Dominic Noel scored his first goal for Dayton at 17:02. But the Titans held on to beat the Bombers 2-1.

Mike Ayers stopped 36 of 38 shots, but suffered the loss for Dayton.

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season.
