Tip-A-Grizz Raises $13,500

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH (Feb. 11, 2003) - The Utah Grizzlies, along with Iggy's Sports Bar and Grill, hosted the fifth annual TIP-A-GRIZZ last night at Iggy's in Jordan Landing raising money for the U of U Burn Camp. Once the evening concluded, the Grizzlies and the attending fans had raised $13,500 dollars.

The players as well as the coaching and training staff earned the money by playing the role of waiters and bartenders to the attending fans. Other activities during the night raised money including the players and coaches performing numerous stunts and acts as requested by the fans in attendance.

At the end of the evening a special, commemorative apron that each player wore was auctioned off earning collectively $3,366.00. Rookie goaltender Jason Bacashihua earned the honor of having his apron sold for the highest amount, $350.00.

The top tip earners on the evening were Head Coach Don Hay ($626.50) and Gavin Morgan ($623.00) who were separated by just $3.50.
