MONDAY NIGHT: The TinCaps took advantage of mistakes from the Hot Rods to win their third straight game, 5-1, in front of 6,181 fans at Parkview Field on Monday night. Starter Nick Margevicius went 7 innings, allowed 5 hits, 1 run, and struck out 5. Margevicius and reliever Travis Radke didn't walk or hit a Bowling Green batter in the game.

ALL-STAR STARTER: The last time Aaron Leasher took the mound, it was the top of the first inning last Tuesday at the Midwest League All-Star Game. Leasher found out that he was the starter for the East Division just hours before first pitch from Cooley Law School Stadium. Leasher went 1 inning, allowed just 1 hit to former 1st overall draft pick Royce Lewis, but didn't allow a run and struck out a batter. Although Aaron started the All-Star Game, this will be his first start for the TinCaps since May 29 vs. Bowling Green, after he made 3 consecutive piggyback bullpen appearances to end the first half of the season. In his last 3 appearances, he has tossed 13.0 innings, allowed 9 hits, 1 run, and has 17 strikeouts.

ORNELAS ON BASE: Tirso Ornelas is on a 26-game on-base streak, which is the 2nd longest active streak in the Midwest League, and is the longest such streak for a TinCap this season. (Lake County infielder Tyler Friis is on a 28-game streak, but is currently on the DL). The longest in the league this year: 31 games, Michael Beltre, Dayton.) Since May 24, Ornelas has hit .307 with a .431 OBP. He has 6 doubles, 3 triples, 4 homers, and 16 RBIs during the run. Maybe most impressive, he's walked more times (18) than he's struck out (15)... The franchise record for consecutive games on base is 56 - set by Sean Burroughs in 1999.

2ND HALF VIBES: TinCaps outfielders Jack Suwinski and Jeisson Rosario have started the 2nd half of the season with a bang. Through the first 5 games, Suwinski is 6-for-11 with a double, a triple, a home run, 3 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 2 walks. Rosario is 6-for-12 with 2 doubles, an RBI, 5 runs scored, and 4 walks.

HOME SWEET HOME: The TinCaps are in the midst of a stretch of 10 consecutive home games. TinCaps are 24-16 at home this year, including wins in 16 of their last 22. Fort Wayne is slashing .263/.345/.375 at home this year compared to .216/.298/.317 on the road. The 'Caps have averaged 5.1 runs per game at home and 3.6 per game on the road, where they are 11-23.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 5th in runs (47), tied for 6th in walks (42), and 6th in OBP (.398)... Esteury Ruiz 3rd in SB (23).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 11th in Line Drive % (24%) and 9th in BB% (15%)... Tirso Ornelas is 8th lowest in Swing and Miss% (7%). Aaron Leasher is 1st in lowest HR/9 IP Ratio (0.15).

BULLPEN BOOMERANG: TinCaps relievers have posted an ERA of 3.12 over the last 54 games. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had a 7.47 ERA.
