
Zach Davies to Start for Timber Rattlers on Friday

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced that Zach Davies will make a rehabilitation start for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Friday, June 29. The Rattlers host the Clinton LumberKings at 7:05pm at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium on Friday.
Davies was 2-3 with a 4.24 ERA in six starts for the Brewers this season before being sidelined with a rotator cuff injury. Davies was placed on the Milwaukee disabled list on May 3 retroactive to April 30. He made a rehabilitation start for the Timber Rattlers against the Burlington Bees on May 19 and allowed two hits with nine strikeouts over 4-2/3 scoreless innings. He was reactivated by the Brewers for two starts at the end of May before being sent back to the disabled list on June 1.
The right-hander has made two rehab starts for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the Pacific Coast League affiliate of the Brewers, before joining the Rattlers on his road back to Milwaukee. He was 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA and six strikeouts over six innings for the Sky Sox. In his most recent start, Davies allowed three hits and struck out four over 4-1/3 scoreless innings against the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines on June 24.
Friday's game is the second of two Peanut-Free Nights to open Wisconsin's second half home schedule. Also on Friday, Neuroscience Group presents Harry Potter Night with characters from the movies, butter beer, and more fun from the books and movies. Plus, the first 1,000 fans to attend the game will receive a pair of Harry Potter-themed Timber Rattlers socks.
Neuroscience Group also brings Strike Out Stroke Night to the stadium with ways to recognize the signs of and prevent strokes. After the game there will be a fireworks display courtesy of FOX 11 and after the fireworks children 14 and under may participate in Kids Run the Bases presented by Menasha Corporation. This night is also an Arty's Old Fashioned Friday presented by WIXX with Arty's Old Fashion drinks available for $3.
