Wisconsin Shuts out Bandits Again 5-0

Davenport, IA - The Quad Cities River Bandits were shut out by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for the second straight game, falling by a 5-0 score on Tuesday night at Modern Woodmen Park. The Bandits were held scoreless for the sixth time this season and have not scored in the last 24.0 innings.

Wisconsin put together a big third inning to do all of the damage in the contest. Gabriel Garcia led off with a walk to open the attack. Brent Diaz followed with a fly ball toward right that carried over the wall for a two-run home run. Zach Clark doubled in the next at bat, moved to third on a groundball and scored when Tristen Lutz drove a single into center field. Trevor Morrison joined Lutz on base with a walk in front of an RBI double by Jay Feliciano that made it 4-0. The final run was scored on a sacrifice fly by designated hitter Kenny Corey.

The Bandits tallied only three hits in the game, two of them coming in the ninth inning. Wisconsin was limited to six hits with five coming in the decisive third inning. No player finished with more than one hit for either team.

Rodriguez, the starting pitcher, lasted 6.0 innings and surrendered five runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Carlos Sanabria was first out of the bullpen, working 1.2 innings without allowing a run or hit. Brendan Feldmann pitched the final 1.1 innings and allowed one hit while striking out a pair.

The River Bandits (1-5, 41-35) close out the series with Wisconsin (2-4, 33-42) on Wednesday evening at 6:35 p.m. RHP Cesar Rosado (3-2, 4.36) will start for the Bandits in a match-up with RHP Dylan File (5-3, 3.67) of Wisconsin.
