Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

FORT WAYNE, IN - The Bowling Green Hot Rods dropped their second straight game to the Fort Wayne TinCaps this evening, losing 3-2. SS Taylor Walls and C Ronaldo Hernandez each homered in the loss.

The first four innings went by quickly, as both LHP Aaron Leasher and RHP Tobias Myers worked efficiently.

However, the TinCaps broke through in the fifth, scoring a run on an RBI double, and it was 1-0 Fort Wayne.

Bowling Green responded in the top of the sixth, when lead off hitter SS Taylor Walls homered to left field on a 2-2 pitch, and it was 1-1.

Fort Wayne responded with a home run of their own in the bottom of the sixth, as DH Justin Lopez hit a two-run home run that hit the metal rack above the right center field wall, and it was 3-1.

The Hot Rods came up in the ninth still trailing by two, but C Ronaldo Hernandez drilled a home run that hit off the batter's eye in center, and it made the score 3-2. Unfortunately for Bowling Green, that score turned out to be final, as the Hot Rods fell to 50-25 on the season.

The Hot Rods will look to avoid the sweep tomorrow afternoon. They will send RHP Austin Franklin (5-2, 3.39) to the mound, while the TinCaps will counter with LHP Osvaldo Hernandez (4-3, 2.25). First pitch from Parkview Field is set for 12:05pm Eastern.
