About Last Game : For a while on Friday night at Parkview Field, fans must've been thinking they had seen this movie before. The TinCaps came from eight runs down to beat Lake County in wild fashion Thursday. But on Friday, it turned out not to be a sequel after all. Despite chipping into a seven-run deficit, Fort Wayne eventually fell to the Captains, 8-5, in front of a sell-out crowd of 7,701.

A TinCaps Win Would : Avoid consecutive losses... Be their 12th in their last 16 games... Jump in front of Lake County in the Eastern Division playoff race (see standings below)... Improve their record against Lake County at home this year to 5-1... Even the season series against the Captains.

Lloyd's An Ace : Tonight's TinCaps starter Kyle Lloyd, who pitched collegiately for the University of Evansville Purple Aces, has been on a roll over his last five starts. Going back to July 12, Lloyd has struck out 13, 8, 7, 8, and 10 batters. He enters tonight second in the league in Ks on the season in the Midwest League with 120 in just 92 2/3 innings pitched.

Nester's Debut : John Nester is behind the plate for the TinCaps making his Fort Wayne debut. Nester transferred to the ballclub Friday from Advanced-A Lake Elsinore. He was signed by the Padres in March after spending the 2013 season in the independent Frontier League with the Evansville Otters.

Roster Report : Fort Wayne right-handed reliever Josh Richardson was placed on the disabled list earlier today. Right-handed reliever Tyler Wood has been transferred to the TinCaps from the Arizona League Padres. Wood was drafted by the Padres in the 37th round in June out of Furman University.

Packed Parkview Field : Friday's game at Parkview Field drew a crowd of 7,701, making it the 20th sellout of the season in Downtown Fort Wayne. The TinCaps have averaged 5,807 fans per game this season. That's the 3rd highest average among 30 Class A franchises. It's also better than all 30 Class A Advanced teams and 26 Double-A clubs. In fact, Fort Wayne's average attendance tops 12 Triple-A organizations.

Hot Takes : The TinCaps' 17-9 record since July 12 is tied for the 2nd best in the MWL in that time. Only Cedar Rapids (19-7) has been better, while West Michigan has the same mark. Fort Wayne has won 5 consecutive series.
