
Stock Knocks in Two and Captains Win 5-2

Lake County Captains News Release
(Fort Wayne, IN) Richard Stock and Claudio Bautista smacked solo home runs in the ninth inning and the Captains beat the TinCaps 5-2. Stock's Homer, his fourth on the season gave the Captains the 4-2 lead, and two batters later Bautista's 11th of the season put the icing on the cake. The Captains have won two straight games.
The TinCaps scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead. Fort Wayne used seven hitters in the inning, as well as, four hits. The two RBI's were credited to Franmil Reyes and John Nester. The score was 2-0 TinCaps headed to the seventh.
In the top of the seventh inning, the Captains tied the game. Grant Fink was awarded an RBI when he drew a bases loaded walk. The score was 2-1. Richard Stock knocked in a run with a fielder's choice and the score was tied at 2-2.
Lake County took the lead in the top of the eighth inning. Ivan Castillo and Clint Frazier each reached base to begin the ninth inning. With runners at first and third, Mike Papi laced a sacrifice fly to left field and the score was 3-2.
RHP Dace Kime (6-13) started for Lake County and did not factor in the decision. Kime pitched five and two thirds innings and allowed two earned runs on one walk and five hits. Kime hit one batter and struck out five. Robbie Aviles (2-1) came on in relief for the Captains and pitched two and one third innings and allowed just two hits and a hit batter. Aviles earned the win. Carlos Melo pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.
RHP Kyle Lloyd (5-4) started game two for Fort Wayne and didn't get a decision. Lloyd pitched six innings and allowed one earned run on two hits, two walks and he struck out seven. Fort Wayne used two pitchers out of the bullpen to pitch the final three innings. Eric Yardley (1-4) took the loss after pitching two innings and surrendering two runs.
The Captains will stay in Fort Wayne Indiana on Sunday to conclude a four game series with the TinCaps. Lake County will start LHP Luis Lugo (5-9, 5.62) and Fort Wayne will counter with RHP Jeffery Elone (4-3, 2.38). First Pitch is scheduled for 1:05 PM from Parkview Field.
