Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne TinCaps only had four hits in a 3-2 loss to the Beloit Snappers, Sunday at Parkview Field. RHP Simon Castro pitched five strong innings but did not receive a decision. The TinCaps stranded four runners in scoring position.

The Snappers jumped ahead in the top of the 3rd . Drew Thompson ripped an RBI double into the right-field corner. Aaron Hicks followed with an RBI single to make it 1-0.

The TinCaps came right back with a run in the bottom of the 3rd . Kevin Hansen was hit by a pitch to open the frame. Daniel Robertson pounded a double to the gap in right-center to put runners at second and third. Jaff Decker bounced an RBI groundout to tie the game at 1-1.

Fort Wayne momentarily had the lead in the bottom of the 6th . Allan Dykstra drew a two-out walk. He went to second on an infield single by Justin Baum. Cole Figueroa followed with a single up the middle to cap a 10-pitch at-bat, scoring Dykstra and giving the TinCaps a 2-1 lead.

In the top of the 8th , Angel Morales hit a game-tying opposite-field solo home run to right, knotting the score at 2-2.

The Snappers took the lead as they manufactured a run in the top of the 9th against RHP Brad Brach. Dominic De La Osa drew a one-out walk and stole second base. James Beresford flared a single to shallow left to plate De La Osa and gave Beloit a 3-2 lead.

Fort Wayne was retired in order in the bottom of the 9th.

Brach (3-3) was saddled with the loss. Beloit LHP Blake Martin (2-1) was the winning pitcher. RHP Steve Blevins got the final out in the 9th inning to pick up his second save of the year.

Fort Wayne fell to 73-33, 28-8 in the second half. Beloit upped its record to 40-65, 13-22 in the half.

The TinCaps open a four-game series against the Lansing Lugnuts (Class-A Toronto Blue Jays) Monday at Parkview Field at 7:05pm. Fort Wayne RHP Stiven Osuna (8-6) takes the hill against Lansing RHP Chase Lirette (3-2).
