Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The TinCaps nearly came all the way back from a five-run deficit, but lost to the Dayton Dragons, 9-8, Tuesday at Parkview Field. James Darnell pounded a key three-run double in the 8th inning.
Fort Wayne took the lead in the 2nd inning when Edinson Rincon bounced an RBI single to center.

Jason Hagerty's RBI single in the 3rd tied it at 2-2.
In the top of the 6th, Dayton plated five runs, thanks in part to a TinCaps error. Shane Carlson drove in a run with a double, Tommy Nurre lifted a sacrifice fly and Frank Pfister singled to center to make it 7-2.
The TinCaps came right back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 6th. Wande Olabisi sliced a two-run double into the right-field corner, cutting the deficit to 7-4.
In the top of the 8th, Pfister lined a two-run single to left to make it a 9-4 game.
The TinCaps put up four runs in the bottom of the 8th to slice the margin to a single run. Jeudy Valdez's bases-loaded RBI infield single made it 9-5, then Darnell hooked an 0-2 pitch down the left-field line for a three-run double, shaving the deficit to 9-8.
Fort Wayne loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the 9th against RHP Chase Ware, but Ware struck out the final two batters to earn the save.
LHP Pedro Hernandez (1-3) took the loss. Dayton RHP Ricky Bowen (1-0) was the winner, giving up two runs in five innings. The save was Ware's sixth of the season.
The TinCaps fell back below .500, dropping to 32-33. Dayton upped its record to 28-36.
The TinCaps continue the three-game series against the Dragons (Class-A Cincinnati Reds) Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at Parkview Field. Fort Wayne RHP Daniel Sarria (1-2) goes to the mound against Dayton RHP J.C. Sulbaran (3-3).
