Dragons Game Day For Tuesday, June 15

Today's Game: The Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the TinCaps (affiliate of the San Diego Padres) in the first game of a three-game set.

Season Series: Dayton 4, Fort Wayne 2 (at FW: FW 2, Dayton 1). Streaks: Dayton: Won 3 (6-3 over last 9). Fort Wayne: Won 2 (7-10 over last 17).

Last Game: Dayton completed a three-game sweep of Wisconsin with an 8-7 victory on Sunday. Cameron Satterwhite belted a tie-breaking home run leading off the top of the ninth inning to lift Dayton to the win. The Dragons built a 7-0 lead over the first four innings but Wisconsin battled back and eventually tied the game in the seventh. The Dragons collected 15 hits. Didi Gregorius had two hits including a three-run home run. Chris Richburg went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Satterwhite, Shane Carlson, Frank Pfister, and Alex Oliveras each had two hits. Ryan LaMarre, in just his second professional game, stole three bases to tie a club record. Chase Ware tossed a perfect bottom of the ninth inning to earn his fifth save. Blair Carson gave up the tying run but earned the win.

Today's Starting Pitcher: Ricky Bowen will make his second start of the season tonight. After three relief appearances with the Dragons, he made his first start last Tuesday at Beloit and was outstanding (5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 SO). Bowen joined the Dragons from extended spring training on May 25th. Bowen was selected by the Reds in the 43rd round of the 2009 draft out of Mississippi State University. He played at Mississippi State University. After signing with the Reds last summer, Bowen logged just 14.1 innings, going 0-2, 6.28 ERA with Billings (Pioneer League). Bowen went 2-3, 8.44 ERA at MSU as a junior in the spring of 2009. Bowen, 22, is a native of Jasper, Alabama.
