Lansing Lugnuts News Release
LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts, in conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced Tuesday that pitchers Scott Gracey and Egan Smith and infielder Oliver Dominguez have been transferred to the Auburn Doubledays (Short-A, New York-Penn League). In a corresponding move, the Lugnuts have activated pitcher Matt Fields from the Disabled List and have received infielder Justin Jackson from the Dunedin Blue Jays (A-Advanced, Florida State League).
Fields, 23, will start in Game 1 of tonight's doubleheader vs. Bowling Green.
Jackson, 21, will start at second base in Game 1. He marks the third player from the Lugnuts' 2008 roster to return to Lansing in 2010, joining outfielder Eric Eiland and third baseman Kevin Ahrens. All three were 2007 Toronto draft picks selected in the 2nd round or higher.
The moves leave the Lugnuts' official roster with 25 active players and two players on the DL.
