Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster moves, Saturday, June 15th:
RHP Bryan Rodriguez placed on the disabled list, retroactive to Thursday, June 13th. In seven appearances (three starts) this season with the TinCaps, Rodriguez is 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA. His last outing was Wednesday against Lake County, where he took the loss, giving up eight runs, five earned, in 4 2/3 innings.
RHP Adys Portillo reinstated from Double-A San Antonio's disabled list and transferred to Fort Wayne. The 21-year-old Portillo, originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by San Diego in 2008 makes his fourth appearance with Fort Wayne. Portillo pitched in one game in 2010, before a 2011 season where he went 3-11 with a 7.11 ERA in 23 games (20 starts). He followed up that campaign with an All-Star season in 2012, going 6-6 with a 1.87 ERA in 18 starts. The Los Puertos de Altagracia, Venezuela, native was named to the MWL All-Star team and was the winning pitcher in the All-Star game, too. In late July, he was transferred to Double-A San Antonio, where he finished the season. With the Missions, Portillo went 2-5 with a 7.20 ERA in eight starts.
The Fort Wayne roster stands at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.
