Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release

The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster moves today:

* Infielder Luis Tejada placed on Fort Wayne's disabled list.

* Infielder Eric Charles transferred from Eugene to Fort Wayne.

This is the first visit to the disabled list this season for Tejada, a Midwest League All-Star. The first baseman was hitting .243 in 79 games with 1 HR and 31 RBI. Tejada's 79 starts at first base are more than any TinCaps player at any position. Fort Wayne now has four Opening Day starters on the disabled list, as Tejada joins third baseman Gabriel Quintana, shorstop Stephen Carmon, and outfielder Alberth Martinez.

Charles is a native of Zionsville, IN, which is about two hours southwest of Fort Wayne, and played collegiatley at Purdue. So far in 2013, Charles played two games for the Arizona League Padres and two games for Short-Season-A Eugene.

Fort Wayne's roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.
