Tigers Use Benefits of Home to Stop Hitmen

Medicine Hat, AB - Rookie forward Cole Sillinger scored twice to hit the 20 goal mark in leading the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 6-1 victory over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at Canalta Centre.

It was the sixth and final regular season meeting between the two clubs which saw the home team win every game.

Baxter Anderson, Cyle McNabb, Ryan Chyzowski and Jonathan Brinkman also scored for the Tigers who built period leads of 2-0 and 4-1.

Kyle Olson, on a second period power play, notched the lone marker for Calgary.

The Tigers outshot the Hitmen 45-29 and were aided by eight power play chances including a lengthy pair of 5-on-3 opportunities.

Calgary returns home tomorrow, Saturday, March 7 to host Spokane. The Chiefs are led by the WHL's top scorer in Adam Beckman and 2018 New Jersey Devils first-round pick Ty Smith.

Game time is 7:00 p.m. for Multicultural Night at Scotiabank Saddledome. Fans will also receive a FREE mini-stick and be entered into a draw for an autographed team jersey when they make a cash donation to the Calgary Food Bank. Money will be collected at the Purolator #TackleHunger booth located behind section 223 until the end of the second intermission.
