Lethbridge, AB - A three goal second period by the Lethbridge Hurricanes, saw the Medicine Hat Tigers drop their third game of the season series with Lethbridge 5-2 Friday night.

The first period started off on the wrong foot for the Tigers as Trae Wilke would solve starting goaltender Zach Zahara (Rockyview, AB) early on at 1:39 to make it 1-0 Hurricanes. Medicine Hat would respond at 5:24 as Vasyl Spilka (Liberec, CZE) would take an perfect pass in tight from Gavin McKenna (Whitehorse, YT) to tie the game at 1-1. Macus Pacheco (Edmonton, AB) would add a secondary assist on the 4th of the season from Spilka. But on a Tigers penalty kill, the Hurricanes would cash in on Logan Wormald's 10th of the season at 8:45 to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead. Lethbridge would take that same lead into the first intermission.

In the middle frame the Hurricanes would continue to put the pressure on the Tigers as Logan McCutcheon would go to the net and pot his fifth of the season making it 3-1 Hurricanes. Logan Wormald & Brayden Edwards at 8:44. On a late Hurricanes power play Dylan Sydor would re-direct a point shot to solve Zach Zahara and push the Lethbridge lead to 4-1 at 16:28. But 1:34 later the Hurricanes would counter on a turnover and Leo Braillard would chase Zahara at 17:54 to make it 5-1 Hurricanes.

Before the period was out, the Tigers would make it a three goal deficit going to the third period as Shane Smith (Cessford, AB) would match-up his 2022-2023 goal total in a single season as he batted home his 19th of the year on a Tigers power play at 19:56 from Gavin McKenna & Tomas Mrsic (Surrey, BC)

Despite a 17 shot period in the third, the Tigers couldn't make the come back including a pair of shots off the post from Gavin McKenna & Hayden Harsanyi (Calgary, AB). Leading to third loss of the season to Lethbridge.

With the loss the Tigers drop to 25-13-2 but still atop the Central Division standings heading into the back-half of the home-at-home with Lethbridge tomorrow night in Medicine Hat.
