Thurston Waives Hello To Ottawa

OTTAWA - IF Joe Thurston's absence from the Lynx lineup has come to an end. He cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will be added to the Lynx roster today. RHP Ryan Cameron was transferred to Single-A Clearwater.

Thurston, 27, was called up by the Lynx parent club, the Philadelphia Phillies, on Friday. At the time, he had just been named Phillies Minor League Player of the Week He is second in the International League with eight triples. Thurston is batting .277 for the Lynx this season, with 3 HR and 42 RBI. He is second among current Lynx players in hits (108) and walks (35) and leads the current roster in stolen bases (14), and runs scored (52).

Cameron, 29, has no record and a 7.20 ERA in seven appearances with the Lynx this season. He is 0-1 with one save and a 5.53 ERA in 29 games with the R-Phils this season. Last year, Cameron spent the entire season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he went 6-2 with a 3.19 ERA and seven saves. This is Cameron's 11th professional season.
