TONIGHT'S GAME: Is the third of a four game series (the clubs have split the first two) and the 11th of 12 meetings, the fifth of six here. Richmond is 5-5 vs. the Indians, 2-2 at The Diamond. The Braves are 60-79 all-time vs. Indianapolis. The 39th of 48 games vs. West Division clubs; the 15th of 24 at home. Richmond is 19-19 vs. the West, 8-6 at The Diamond. Game three of a six game homestand. Richmond is 1-1. The Braves lead the South Division by two and a half games over Durham.

LAST NIGHT'S GAMES: The Braves and Indians split a doubleheader Wednesday at The Diamond. The Braves rolled to an 11-1 win in the opener to snap a four game losing streak. The Indians bounced back to win the nightcap 7-1. n the first game the Braves erupted for four runs in the first innning. Brandon Jones knocked in a run with a sac fly, Brent Lillibridge singled a run home, and Wes Timmons knocked in two with a double. Jones singled a run home in the second to make it 5-0. The Braves added a run in the third on an RBI double by Iker Franco. The Indians avoided a shutout in the fourth with an RBI single by Luis Matos. The Braves scored a run in the fourth on an error. In the fifth Richmond hit double figures on back to back home runs by Lillibridge, a two-run shot, and Timmons. Brayan Pena capped the scoring with an RBI double in the seventh. Kevin Barry earned the win, striking out six in six innings. Runelvys Hernandez took the loss. Lillibridge and Pete Orr each had three hits for the Braves. In the nightcap the Indians took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on a home run by Steve Pearce. Indianapolis blew the game open in the fifth, scoring four runs helped by two Braves errors. Michael Ryan knocked in a run with a sac fly. Pearce singled a run in. Russ Johnson smacked an RBI double. The Indians also scored on a throwing error on a sac bunt. The Indians tacked on two more runs in the seventh on a Luis Ordaz RBI single and a run-producing ground ball by David Parrish. The Braves dodged a shutout in the seventh on a home run by Jonathan Schuerholz. John Van Benschoten tossed six scoreless innings and earned the win. Brad Nelson took the loss. Johnson, Ordaz, and Pearce had two hits each for the Indians.

AS THE ROSTER TURNS: The Braves assigned RHP Brad Nelson back to Double- A Mississippi today. RHP Moises Hernandez has been promoted to Richmond from Mississippi. He was 1-1 with a 6.42 ERA in six starts with the M-Braves. Hernandez began the season with Myrtle Beach and was 10-3 3.66 in 15 starts. He will be the 51st player used by Richmond this season. The Braves have now made 97 roster moves this season.

ON THE LEADER BOARD: The Braves still lead the IL in ERA (3.61), shutouts (13), and fewest home runs allowed (71). The Braves are second in steals (112). Richmond is now tied for second in the league in hitting (.267). Martin Prado is second in batting average (.321). The Braves lead the IL in fielding percentage (.984) and fewest errors (63). The Braves lead the IL in percentage of opponents caught stealing (59-138 .428).

OF STREAKS AND MEN: Martin Prado's 12 game hitting streak ended in last night's game two. He has the Braves two longest hitting streaks this season (Prado hit in 13 straight, went hitless in a game and followed that with his 12 game streak). He has hits in 25 of his last 27 games. Brent Lillibridge eight game hitting streak also ended in game two. Wes Timmons has hits in four straight games (6-13 .462). Brandon Jones (4-11 .363), Iker Franco (3- 8 .375), and Jonathan Schuerholz (3-8 .375) have hits in three straight games.

NUMBER CRUNCHING: The Braves play 20 of their final 32 games at home. Richmond is 23-13 vs. National League affiliates (.639). They are 38-36 (.513) vs. American League clubs. The Braves final 20 games are vs. AL affiliates. The Braves have dropped five of their last six games. The Braves have been in first place in the South by at least two games every day since April 17.
