
Thunder Release 2011 Schedule

Trenton Thunder News Release
(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, released its 2011 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The Thunder will begin the 2011 season at the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) on Thursday, April 7 with the home opener on Thursday, April 14 at 7:05 pm against the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals). The team will play their last home game on Thursday, September 1 at 7:05 pm against New Hampshire. The season will end in New Britain (Minnesota Twins) on September 5.
The Thunder will face their top rivals 24 times at home. The Binghamton Mets (NY Mets) lead the way with ten games: May 12-15, June 10-12 and August 9-11. The Thunder will face the Double A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, the Portland Sea Dogs, seven times at home in 2011. The Sea Dogs will make their first trip to Trenton May 2-5 followed by May 20-22. Philadelphia Phillies fans can catch the Reading Phillies in Trenton for seven games next season, May 9-11 and July 14-17.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats will make the most appearances at Waterfront Park in 2011 as they will play 13 games in Trenton. They will be the visitors on April 29-May 1, June 3-5, June 27-29, and August 29-September 1.
The Thunder will play nine home games in April, sixteen in May, fifteen in June, fourteen in July, sixteen in August and one in September. The team will play 71 home games against all 11 Eastern League teams.
Standard game times will remain at 7:05 pm for night games. The first Saturday of the season, April 16, will begin at 5:05 pm and all other Saturday games will start at 7:05 pm. Sunday games will start at 1:05 pm with the exception of July 3rd which will begin at 7:05 pm and the two Sundays in August which will begin at 5:05 pm.
Mid-week day games will return in 2011, with the first one, a 10:35 am "Educational Day" slated for Tuesday, May 3 and a second 10:35 am start on Wednesday, June 1. Popular 12:05 pm "Camp Day" games are scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, August 4.
The schedule of fireworks dates and promotions will be released at a later date.
