Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid a sweep and salvage the final game of a three-game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Blair County Ballpark. Last night, the SeaWolves trailed early but battled back, scoring four in the eighth, taking a two-run lead. Altoona plated two runs in the bottom of the ninth sending Erie to the loss. The win for the Curve clinched the season series over the Howlers...The SeaWolves send lefty Adam Wilk to the mound making his Double-A debut. Wilk has spend the entire 2010 season with Class-A Lakeland. In 24 starts, he compiled a 9-5 record and 3.01 ERA. He struck out 100 hitters in 143.2 innings of work for the Flying Tigers. In his most recent start against Brevard County on August 19, Wilk allowed five runs, one earned, on six hits with no walks and six strikeouts in five innings. The lefty did not allow a walk in three of his final four starts. Wilk was selected by the Tigers in the 11th round of the 2009 June draft out of Long Beach State University...Lefty Justin Wilson takes the mound for the Curve making his 25th appearance and 24th start. He took a no-decision in his last outing against Binghamton allowing three runs, one earned,on one hit in five innings with four walks and seven strikeouts. Wilson is 2-2 with a 3.55 ERA in five starts against the SeaWolves in 2010.
- Altoona has won the season series over Erie 11-8. The SeaWolves and Curve meet 20 times in 2010.- Defensively, the 'Wolves have committed 136 errors on the season which is the most in the EL.- The 'Wolves have turned 151 double plays which ranks second in the EL.- The SeaWolves are eighth in the league with a 4.46 team ERA. Altoona leads the league with a 3.58 team ERA.- The SeaWolves are 11th in the league with a .247 team batting average. Douglas has played in 22 games since coming up from Lakeland. He has hit safely in 19 of 22 and reached base in 20 of 22. He also has 13 multi-hit games including the first two games of this series.
