TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and the Reading Phillies will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels rallied for three runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning and the club held on for a 5-4 win over the Phillies in game two of the series on Tuesday night at The Diamond.

BURNING RUBBER: The Flying Squirrels seek a series-clinching win in tonight's rubber match with the R-Phils...Richmond is 6-6 in rubber matches; however, the club has won each of its last four series-deciding contests...The Flying Squirrels are 17-19 in series finales.
THOMAS THE TRAIN: Outfielder Thomas Neal has hits in each of his last eight games, his team-leading 10th hit streak of five games or more...The 23-year-old is 10-for-31 (.323) with four doubles, a home run, five RBI, and five runs scored...Nine of Neal's total 11 home runs have come on the road...He is third in the Eastern League in hits (142) and in doubles (37)...Since 6/1, Neal is batting .316 (90-for-285) in 74 games with 26 doubles, eight home runs, 40 RBI, and 47 runs scored...He has raised his batting average from .255 to .293 over that span.
THE WEATHER MAN: Third baseman Conor Gillaspie has hits in each of his last eight contests, his sixth hit streak of five games or more which is second-most on the club...The 23-year-old is 13-for-34 (.382) over his last eight games with five doubles, a triple, five RBI, and four runs scored... Since 7/1, he is batting .365 (61-for-167) with 13 doubles, four triples, two home runs, 26 RBI, and 21 runs scored...Gillaspie has raised his batting average from .254 to .296 since 7/1...He ranks second in the Eastern League in triples (8) and is 10th in batting average (.296)...He leads the team with runners in scoring position, hitting .331 (43-for-130) in that situation (minimum 20 at-bats).
SCHOOP-A-LOOP: Utility man Sharlon Schoop has hits in each of his last five games, matching his longest hit streak of the season...Over his last five contests, Schoop is 7-for-18 (.389) with a double, three RBI, and two runs scored...Since 8/1, the 23-year-old is batting .338 (22-for-65) with six doubles, a home run, 15 RBI and eight runs scored in 16 games...He is also hitting .478 (11-for-23) with 15 RBI with runners in scoring position this month...In his previous 22 games with Richmond, Schoop hit just .172 (5-for-29) with nine RBI with runners in scoring position.
RAY OF SUNSHINE: Right-hander Ronnie Ray tossed a scoreless inning and earned his third save of the season in last night's 5-4 win over the R-Phils...He has fired 12 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings, his longest scoreless streak of the season, with 12 strikeouts and four walks spanning his last 10 outings, and opposing hitters are just 4-for-41 (.098) against him over that stretch...Since 6/20, the 26-year-old is 2-0 with three saves and has allowed just four runs, two earned in 31 1/3 innings (0.57 ERA) while striking out 34 batters and walking eight spanning his last 26 outings...Opposing hitters are batting .132 (14-for-106) against him over that stretch.
DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 154 double plays in 127 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The Flying Squirrels have not gone more than three games without a double play this season...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned.
CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Left-hander Andy Sisco struck out two more batters in a scoreless inning of work in last night's 5-4 win over Reading...The 27-year-old has struck out 70 batters in 59 2/3 innings and ranks third among Eastern League relievers in strikeouts per nine innings (10.56).
