Thunder Keep Rolling In 4-1 Victory

Trenton, NJ- The pitching and offense kept rolling on Saturday afternoon, as the Thunder defeated the Erie SeaWolves 4-1 in front of 5,087 fans at Waterfront Park. With the win, Trenton improves to 3-0 for the first time since the 2002 season.

LHP Jeremy Bleich returned to Trenton and pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just 2 hits and striking out 5. He gets the win in his first start of 2010.

The Thunder struck first in the 3rd inning, when Luis Nunez connected on a double into left field with one out . Austin Krum singled in Nunez to put the Thunder ahead 1-0. David Adam was the next batter, and he connected on a 2-run home run to leftfield and put Trenton up 3-0. It was the first home run hit by a Thunder hitter in 2010. The Thunder would tack on one more run in the 8th inning off an Adams double that scored Nunez.

RHP's Josh Schmidt and Eric Wordekemper pitched the final 2.2 innings for Trenton, with Wordekemper getting the save. David Adams finished 3x4 with a home run and 3 RBI. Reid Gorecki and Luis Nunez each had two hits in the win.

The Thunder look to sweep the SeaWolves as the two teams conclude the four game series tomorrow at 1:05 at Waterfront Park.
