Trenton Thunder News Release
Trenton, NJ - Timely hitting in the seventh inning and effective pitching out of the bullpen helped the Thunder capture their seventh straight win, as they defeated the Binghamton Mets 5-2 on Thursday night at Waterfront Park. With the win, Trenton improves to 18-15 on the season.
Trenton was able to get to Mets RHP Eddie Kunz early in the first inning. Austin Krum hit a single to center field with one out, and David Adams drove him around to score on an RBI double to right center field, and give the Thunder a 1-0 lead.
Binghamton took advantage of a wild David Phelps , and were able to tie it up in the third and take the lead in the fourth. Between both innings, the Mets would score two runs on two hits. Both runs reached base on walks given up by Phelps, and Binghamton had a 2-1 lead. The Thunder struck back in the bottom half of the fourth, as Austin Krum came around to score on a groundout by Austin Romine.
