(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees announced today RHP J.B. Cox has been added to the roster and RHP Grant Duff has been placed on the seven-day disabled list, retroactive to June 28th.

Cox joins the Thunder after making five appearances in Single-A Tampa, posting an 0-1 record with an 8.59 ERA. The New York Yankees second round pick in 2005 has spent parts of three seasons ('06, 08, 09) with Trenton. In 2006 Cox went 6-2 with a 1.75 ERA and tossed 77 innings in relief for the Thunder. Cox attended the University of Texas and assisted in winning the National Championship in 2005.

Grant Duff is placed on the DL retroactive to June 28th with an undisclosed injury. The RHP Duff leads the Thunder with eight saves in ten opportunities. Duff is currently 1-4 with a 2.84 ERA in 31.2 innings pitched with Trenton and has made four appearances in Triple-A Scranton.

The Thunder return to Waterfront Park on Thursday to begin a four game series against the Harrisburg Senators. The Thunder will host consecutive fireworks shows on July 3rd and 4th in celebration of Independence Day.
