ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid a sweep and their ninth straight loss as they take on the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) in the final game of a three-game series at Prince George's Stadium. Last night, the "Wolves dropped their fourth straight one-run game en route to falling a season-low 16 games under .500. Five of Erie's last six losses have been by a run and the Howlers are now 5-15 in one-run games. The "Wolves are 5-21 in June and since over taking first place in the Western Division on May 19, Erie has gone 8-31 (.205 winning percentage)...Lefty Duane Below takes the mound for Erie making his 16th start and third against the Baysox. Below is 1-1 against Bowie and picked up a season-high 10 strikeouts on April 27 at Prince Geroge's Stadium. Below took a loss in his last outing against Richmond going four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Below has allowed nine earned runs over his last 9.1 innings pitched...Lefty Rich Zagone takes the mound for Bowie making his Double-A debut. In 15 starts with Class-A Frederick, Zagone was 5-6 with a 3.20 ERA. He earned wins in three of his last four starts. In his last outing against Winston-Salem, Zagone allowed two runs on seven hits with no walks and four strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. He did not issue a walk over his final two starts.
