
Three Fisher Cats Named to EL Season Ending All-Star

Manchester, N.H.- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, are pleased to announce that catcher Travis d'Arnaud, centerfielder Anthony Gose and former shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria have been selected to the Eastern League Season Ending All-Star Team, as announced by the Eastern League this afternoon.
d'Arnaud, 22, has been named to the season ending All-Star Team for the second straight season
for his respective leagueafter being selected as a catcher on the Florida State League All-Star Team with the Dunedin Blue Jays last season. Travis is the Eastern League leader among active hitters in slugging percentage (.552) and OPS (.934) while ranking third in batting average (.321). He currently leads the Fisher Cats in hits (126), homeruns (19), total bases (217) and on-base percentage (.382). The Long Beach, CA native batted .410 in May after hitting .392 with six homeruns and 26 RBI in July, propelling him onto the Eastern Division roster for the mid-season Eastern League All-Star Game. Travis is rated as the Blue Jays fifth best prospect and the Eastern League's "Best Defensive Catcher" by Baseball America.
Gose, 21, leads the Eastern League in stolen bases with 61 and has shattered the Fisher Cats previous single-season franchise record of 46 stolen bases set by Darin Mastroianni in 2010. His 61 steals are the most in the EL since 2006 when Justin Christian stole 68 bases with the Trenton Thunder. Recently named the EL's "Fastest Base Runner", "Best Defensive Outfielder" and ""Most Exciting Player" by Baseball America, he is rated as Toronto's fourth best prospect. Gose has hit 14 homeruns this season and leads New Hampshire in games played (126), triples (7) and walks (59) while ranking third in the league with 78 runs scored. This marks the third consecutive season that Gose has been named to a season ending All-Star Team for his respective league as he was a Florida State League All-Star last season and was a South Atlantic League All-Star in 2009.
Hechavarria, 22, entered the season rated by Baseball America as the best defensive infielder in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system and leads all Eastern League shortstops with a .974 fielding percentage. Hechavarria batted .235 (109-for-464) with 22 doubles, six triples, six home runs, 58 runs scored, 46 RBI and 19 stolen bases with New Hampshire before receiving a promotion to Triple-A on August 11th. Adeiny was a member of the Eastern Division roster for the 2011 Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game and was tabbed by Baseball America as the "Best Defensive Shortstop" in the Eastern League this season.
