Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Winston-Salem allowed just one base hit in their 1-0 win over the Greenville Drive.

After a scoreless first two innings, Winston-Salem got the bats going in the third inning.

Moises Castillo smacked a double that just stayed fair down the left field line. Later in the inning with one out, Oscar Colas laced a triple all the way to the right field wall to score Castillo, and put the Warthogs up 1-0.

From there, Matt Thompson continued to build on a strong outing. The righty sent Greenville down in order in the fourth, and allowed just one base runner in the fifth after he hit Joe Davis**.* In the sixth, *Ceddanne Rafaela* worked a leadoff walk against Thompson. The next man up was *Matt Lugo, and he lifted a ball deep into center. Colas was able to make the play on the warning track, and Rafaela attempted to tag up from first base. But the throw from Colas was right on the money, to complete the 8-6 double play. Thompson was then lifted after a walk to **Alex Binelas, but Garrett Schoenle fanned Nick Northcut to end the inning.

Schoenle, making his first appearance in front of the Winston-Salem faithful, was nails all night long. He allowed one base runner in the seventh on a free pass, then sent the Drive down in order in the eighth.

Dash hitters were unable to string much together offensively, picking up just one base hit after they pushed a run across in the third.

Schoenle came back out for the ninth inning, and sent Greenville down in order to lock down a 1-0 Winston-Salem victory. He got the save, Matt Thompson earned his first win of the season, and

Shane Drohan took the loss for Greenville.

The Dash are slated to throw Chase Solesky in game three, against Yusniel Padron-Artiles for Greenville.
