
Thomas McCollum Headed Back to Toledo

(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.) The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday assigned goaltender Tom McCollum to the ECHL's Toledo Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
McCollum, 22, posted a 4-3 record in seven games with the Griffins, along with a 3.17 goals against average and 0.896 save percentage. He helped lead the Griffins to their first three-game winning streak of the season last week, personally winning three straight games for the first time since he won four in a row as a rookie from Oct. 24-Nov. 13, 2009.
The Sanborn, N.Y., native returns to the Walleye, where he has appeared in five games this season and posted a 1-3 record, 2.57 GAA and 0.914 save percentage.
