Allen York Returns to Express

Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that goaltender Allen York has been reassigned from the Springfield Falcons by the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Chicago Express. Chicago has also lost the services of both G Paul Dainton, who was recalled to Springfield (AHL), and G Rob Nolan, who was loaned to San Antonio (AHL).

York, 22, has compiled a 0-1-0 record to go along with a .878 save percentage and 3.53 goals against average during his time with the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets. York started his first NHL game on October 29 in Chicago against the Blackhawks, and made his NHL debut in a relief appearance against the Detroit Red Wings on October 25.

York has appeared in one game for the Express this season in 2-1 victory over the Cincinnati Cyclones on November 19. The Wetaskiwin, Alberta, native stopped 38 of 39 shots en route to first star honors. He has played four games with Chicago's AHL affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, as well this season, earning a 1-1-0 record, a 3.69 GAA, and a .875 save percentage.

Dainton is being recalled to the AHL for the first time since being assigned to the Express on October 24. The Halifax, NS, native played in three games for the Falcons before his assignment to the Express where he had a 1-2-0 record, a 4.30 GAA, and .836 save percentage. Dainton has a 3.12 GAA and .905 save percentage with a 4-2-0 record with the Express.

The Express return home to battle the Kalamazoo Wings tonight at the Sears Centre Arena as well as Friday, December 9. The 9th is a Dollar Friday game.
