Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Hardy Sauter announced Wednesday that the AHL's Texas Stars have assigned defenseman Jace Coyle to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads.

The 21-year-old Coyle is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday night when the Idaho Steelheads host the Colorado Eagles at 7 PM at CenturyLink Arena in downtown Boise. He'll be wearing jersey no. 27.

Sauter and Coyle are familiar with one another as Coyle played 52 games for the WHL's Spokane Chiefs during the 2007-08 season, when Sauter was the team's assistant coach. Coyle also played for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL before turning pro this season. He has appeared in eleven games with Texas and is still in search of his first professional point.

Texas (AHL) and Idaho (ECHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars.

Also, forward Marty Flichel has been placed on the 21-Day Injured Reserve, defenseman Matt Cowie has been placed on the 3-Day Injured Reserve and forward Aaron Lewadniuk has been transferred from the 3-Day Injured Reserve to the 7-Day Injured Reserve.

Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim's Cascade Chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
