October 17, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Providence Bruins News Release

The Providence Bruins maintained their unbeaten start to the 2003-04 season on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence, as they battled the Worcester IceCats to a 2-2 tie. The Bruins picked up a point in the Atlantic Division standings and with their 2-0-1-0 record (5 points), are tied for second place with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Goaltender Tim Thomas, coming off a shutout at Worcester last Saturday, was outstanding, stopping 42 of the 44 shots he faced. The 29-year-old native of Davison, Michigan is 1-0-1 to start the season.

Center Matt Herr, a 2002-03 AHL First-Team All-Star, scored both Bruin goals, including one on a power play. The goals were Herr's first two of the season.

The Bruins visit the Springfield Falcons on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550.

The Bruins return home for a special "Weekend with the Bruins", as they play an entire weekend on home ice for the first time in franchise history.
