CLEVELAND - The Grand Rapids Griffins (1-1-0-0) on Friday night lost for the first time this season at Gund Arena against the Cleveland Barons (1-1-0-0) by a 2-0 score.

Following a scoreless first period, the Barons struck first when Tomas Plihal scored from Craig Valette and Tavis Hansen at 7:48 of the second period.
