Third Annual Fed by the Gladiators a Success

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that the organization raised over $18,000 for the "Gladiators Foundation for Kids" thought the team's annual "Fed by the Gladiators" event. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the Gwinnett Children's Shelter in Buford.

The annual "Fed by the Gladiators" event has become one of the marquee events for the team to help raise funds for the Gladiators Foundation for Kids as it has become the second largest fundraiser for the organization following the annual Specialty Jersey Auction held each season.

Held on January 15th at Little Gardens Restaurant in Lawrenceville, "Fed by the Gladiators" allows fans and Gladiators season ticket holders the opportunity to enjoy dining at the restaurant while a Gladiators player serves as a waiter for each table. For the third consecutive season, the event was sold out with over 100 people attending the dinner.

In addition to raising money for the "Gladiators Foundation for Kids" though seat reservations, the team raised money through a silent auction of sports memorabilia at the event as well as through the auction of the player's special "Fed by the Gladiators" tee- shirts they wore throughout the night.

"The Gladiators Foundation for Kids" was established by the by the Gwinnett Gladiators to help support the many Non-Profit Agencies and Organizations who work with Children in Gwinnett and surrounding communities. The Gladiators for Kids Fund is managed by the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia, a highly respected 501-C-3 charitable organization based in Duluth, GA.

The Gladiators continue their fifth anniversary season on Saturday, January 26th as the Gladiators travel to Pensacola to take on the Ice Pilots at 8:05 p.m. start time. Catch all the play-by-play action in Saturday's game online via AccessNorthGa.com audio stream 3.

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
