Dayton Bombers News Release

Stockton, CA- Dayton Bombers forward and ECHL leading rookie Matt Beaudoin scored a goal and center Yannick Tifu, the league's leading scorer, added an assist for the American Conference in the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game on Wednesday night. The American Conference was defeated by the National Conference 10-7.

Beaudoin's goal came in the third period from Reading's Brett Hemingway and Augusta's Adrian Veideman and passed National Conference goaltender Daniel Manzato, representing the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Tifu, who leads the ECHL with 40 assists, nabbed a helper on a Hemingway goal later in the third period with Johnstown's Ryan Garlock.

Both Tifu and Beaudoin were named starters for the American Conference, the first for the Bombers since the 1994 All-Star Game when defenseman Derek Donald and forward Tom Nemeth started for the Western Conference.

Victoria's Ash Goldie was named All-Star MVP after he set a new All-Star Game record with six points (3g, 3a). Last year, Bombers goalie Adam Berkhoel, who started for the American Conference, was named MVP.
