Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - Brett Hemingway, a first year forward for the Reading Royals of the ECHL, set a team record by registering three points (1g-2a) in the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All Star Game in Stockton, California, on Wednesday night. Hemingway's points weren't enough for the American Conference to stave off the National Conference, who won 10-7. All of Hemingway's points came in the third period, including his game capping goal with just 3:46 remaining. Hemingway, who is the fourteenth different Royal to be either selected for, or to serve as an alternate in, the ECHL All-Star Game in the seven year history of the team, is the first Royal ever to register three points in the mid-season classic. Simon Tremblay (2002), Brad Rooney (2003), Brian McCullough (2003), David Masse (2004), and Ryan Kinasewich (2005 in Reading) each registered two point performances in their All-Star appearances. Ash Goldie of the Victoria Salmon Kings, who was named as the 2008 ECHL All-Star MVP, led the National Conference squad with a record six points (3g-3a)

The Royals return to action this Saturday (January 26, 2008) (7:00 pm) when the team travels to Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey, to take on the Trenton Devils. The game night broadcast will begin at 6:30 pm with the pre-game warm-up show presented by The Works at Wyomissing on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and on the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
