
Texas Drops First Preseason Game 4-0

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars were defeated by the San Antonio Rampage 4-0 in a preseason game on Friday night at Cedar Park Center. San Antonio goalie Brian Foster stopped all 24 shots he faced for the shutout. Three San Antonio skaters had multi-point nights. Eric Selleck and Bracken Kearns each registered a goal and an assist while Anthony Luciani notched two assists. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany stopped 20 of 24 shots in the loss. The Stars and Rampage will meet again at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday afternoon in San Antonio.
San Antonio struck early with a goal at 1:18 of the opening period from left wing Eric Selleck. Right wing Anthony Luciani and defenseman Roman Derlyuk each provided an assist to give the Rampage an early 1-0 lead. The Rampage extended its lead to 2-0 with a goal by center Bracken Kearns. Defenseman Evan Oberg and Luciani helped on the goal at 7:42 of the first period. San Antonio strengthened its lead as forward Joe Devin pushed the puck past Beskorowany at 8:37 of the first. Selleck and defenseman Adam Comrie each had an assist, as San Antonio finished the period with a 3-0 lead.
The Rampage continued the scoring in the second period with a goal by left wing Justin Vaive at 8:41. Kearns and forward Daniel Koger set up the goal for the 4-0 final.
The Texas Stars take on the Rampage on Saturday at 3:00 P.M. The game will be played at the Northwoods Ice Center in San Antonio. The Stars conclude the preseason at the Cedar Park Center against the Houston Aeros on Sunday at 5:00 P.M.
